Holy Fire Reiki and Forgiveness.   I first became acquainted with Holy Fire Reiki in August 2015, in beautiful Hana on Maui.   My Holy Fire Reiki journey ever since has been both life altering and incredible. The Holy Fire energy emerged in January 2014 as a new Reiki energy.  This energy is elegant, loving and so powerful in all that it heals.   I find it allows us to live with more confidence and grace especially in our relationships with others.
Like everyone else, I had my own past issues to resolve and eventually release.   So many of us walk around holding onto old issues and anger, don’t we? It is like dragging heavy pieces of luggage around everywhere we go, except that we never ever need it! We all have a choice whether to keep this energy or to set it free.  Yes, this is much easier said than done!
When I became a Reiki practitioner, I decided this energy no longer served me and definitely incompatible with my goal to enhance my own Reiki energy. I began my own healing journey some years ago.  What I discovered however, with Holy Fire Reiki is that I can heal serious emotional issues more quickly, than with traditional Usui Reiki.
This past year, I had a recurring issue that kept returning. Emotionally, it was very difficult, hurtful and weighed on me constantly.   When, I look back at my life, I know this issue to be central in many difficulties I’ve experienced.  I also know, the Universe keeps sending these things back your way until you learn the lesson you need in order to move on.   This year, it was my time to move on from this disrespectful pattern of behavior, which I allowed into my life.
One incident was incredibly painful and inflicted by a person very close to me.  I spent the following day in Holy Fire meditation and the charge around the incident vanished and I actually experienced compassion for the other person.   I also forgave him, which was so much easier than in the past.  I think it helps me to know that forgiveness is simply forgiveness.  It does not mean, that you condone the offensive behavior or act.  It feels like I just got rid of one of those heavy bags that I have been dragging around most of my life.   I feel lighter now and better energy now replaces this old energy.
Since then, I have dealt with two other issues that followed this same pattern.   In one situation, an important relationship improved.   The other, involved a highly toxic person, who has done and said very malicious and false things about me to many people in my circle.   However, with the Holy Fire, this behavior no longer has any power over me and I no longer accepted the negative energy directed towards me from this person.  I also no longer feel any anger, doubt or any other negative emotion associated with this person, I have healed and moved on. The ability to forgive someone and release those negative emotions is so empowering!
I am ever grateful to the Holy Fire for the power of forgiveness and affording me the grace and confidence to end this recurring issue in my life.   I am excited to let in more light into my life and getting rid of that heavy, useless luggage.   Namaste.

The Art of Compassion for Yourself.   I find that many of us called to Reiki and other healing modalities are very giving and compassionate to others.  However, we often neglect to give compassion to ourselves. Being compassionate with one’s self is equality important as the compassion we show others.
This subject came into focus for me recently.  I am in the midst of a major life transition now, which can be a little scary, but is also quite exciting. The transition emerged as I was to begin a Reiki retreat in Sedona over the Labor Day weekend.  I consider that rather great timing!   During the retreat, I was reunited with incredible, loving friends who are great supporters in my life.   One afternoon, we went to a Reiki share with about 20 others.  While there, I noticed a man with a special energy and bearing who was moving around the room helping others.   I had hoped for his presence when it was my turn to receive Reiki.  He sensed this and joined my friends as they were giving me Reiki.
Afterwards, I hugged him and thanked him.  He did not say much, except to say, “Be nice to you” as he placed a comforting hand on his cheek.   Those few words were so powerful and so well timed, you cannot imagine.
I think many of us hear from our “inner critic” more than we desire.   You know this is the voice that criticizes who we are and what we do.  Who says things, like; “you are stupid”, “you will fail”, “you are ugly” and so on.   I think most of us have some of this going on internally.   Isn’t it interesting, if we heard another person say these to someone else, we would find it at best offensive, demeaning and perhaps even abusive?
So why do we allow this in ourselves?  Perhaps we may not be aware of the extent this occurs daily.   Maybe, it would be useful to keep a log just for a day or week of these internal criticisms we hear.  Each time we hear one, we write it down. I imagine, seeing this compilation would inspire action to change. Now, when I hear a criticism, I am so much more aware and I recall “Be nice to you” and use that instead.   This new self-compassion gives me even greater energy, trust and empowerment to move into a new direction.   It also enhances my compassion and forgiveness for others!  Namaste.

The Healing White Light.   Welcome to my Reiki blog!   I love the healing energy of Reiki and am constantly amazed by its presence and healing. This beautiful energy is available to us at any time.  Often those of us who are drawn to energy work and healing are called light workers, a cool name if you ask me!

A few weeks ago, my sister and youngest niece came to visit me at my home in Breckenridge, Colorado.  We have a very strong connection and our time together is precious.  Several years ago, they completed their Reiki II training with me.   During this latest visit, I gave them a Holy Fire Reiki II placement to upgrade their Reiki II energy.  The results were immediate and their confidence and ability to use Reiki grew significantly due to the Holy Fire!  This later turned out to be a great thing for me.

When time allows, I like follow my classes with time to connect with nature.   We were fortunate to do so on this day and set off on my favorite hike.   It was a beautiful fall morning and this trail has some very strong spiritual energy.   At one point, my sister felt she needed to stop and take a picture.  The result was this photo, where you see the pure white light streaming into the forest around us.  We could not see this light with our eyes, it simply showed up when she took the photo.   It serves as a great reminder that the Healing Light of Reiki is always with us, even if we cannot see it!

A few minutes later, I ended up twisting my knee.  In my lifetime I have experienced many injuries especially to the knee, and this felt like those times where I have torn a ligament.   My sister helped me out of the stream and we all immediately began to give my knee Reiki.   I was stunned, that I was able to walk out on my own for the last mile! During this time we each shared with the others, the individual lessons and personal insights we gained from this experience.

I am ever grateful to the healing white light of Reiki and its constant presence in my life and those around me.   It still continues to surprise me in the pure nature of its healing.
